This is Blind Pilot. And this is a rad music video from Team G, a ‘massively inclusive’ video collective made up of folks from LA, NYC and KC… that’s Kansas City for the newbie.
Anyways, I saw these cats at Outside Lands Music Festival in 2009. I was front row, and they sang so sweet. Found out they did a West Coast tour, on their bikes. Find out more about THAT.

Disclaimer: Greg Laswell is a buddy of mine. We just so happened to go to the same college, start somewhat of a ‘business’ together, and I’ve recorded music with him. One night, we should’ve gone to jail (for reasons I can’t put out in a public forum).
Anyways, he recently put out an extremely ballsy record, the Covers EP. Just trust me on this one, it’s an extremely beautiful record, with 6 beautiful songs. Including the above Kate Bush cover – This Woman’s Work.

This is Pomplamoose. They’re from the Bay Area (corte madera, actually). And I am in absolute love with what they are doing. A guy and a girl get together, make fun YouTube videos (covers & originals) in order to promote their own music.
They’ve got free tunes, all of them being covers. But within mere minutes of browsing their youtube channel, I was off to iTunes, buying everything I could get my hands on. You will too, after you download Pomplamooses free covers. It’s 8 songs, what are you still doing here?

Damnit Brooklyn, you keep putting out all these damn good artists that I like. You’ve got rap, hip-hop, electronica, and whatever the else you want. When are we on the West Coast going to keep up with you?
Disclaimer: If you’re uber-Thom Yorke fan, don’t get this, seriously. All you’ll do is compare the vocals to Thom. It’s just a waste of your time. If you’re open for some free songs though, and need something to lighten your day, go for it.
